Client Feedback!

I adore working with my clients! I have the unique opportunity to be a part of the most special days they will ever encounter!

Below is a bit of feedback from recent brides....

Wow, what a transformation! We had a great time with you and rocked the shoot. The photographer complimented my lashes when I walked in the door-Tiara, Bride August 2010

The girls had an absolute blast today. Thank you so much for coming out. Here is the best shot of the four girls. You did a fantastic job. Thanks again!-Kris, Prom 2010

I first want to thank you so much for the wonderful job you did. Everyone looked stunning and the makeup including mine stayed on the entire night despite the humidity and my massive amounts of dancing. Once I got used to the eyelashes I was so glad you picked the ones you did. They looked fantastic and I got tons of complements on them and my makeup. Thank you, thank you, thank you.-Ana, Bride June 2010

I was one of the bridesmaids whose makeup you applied for Jenn Young's wedding (10/9). I have been wanting to write and thank you for doing such a wonderful job, and for trekking all the way out to Pataskala at such an early hour! I know Jenn truly appreciated your work and cooperation. Things got a bit crazy in the house as your sessions were drawing to a close, and I didn't get a chance to properly express my thanks. I so enjoyed talking with you about your upcoming wee arrival, and of course your love of makeup! You are so sweet and talented (oh, and I am still in love with your Chanel polish ;)-Stephanie, Bridesmaid October 2010

I loved the way you applied our makeup! If you ever need anything or are in Chicago give me a call!-Sejal, Bridal July 2010

I was delighted with the make up job that you did. You truly are an artist!-Becky, Photoshoot 2010

Insider beauty tricks...

Ladies,

As most of you know, I have recommended a few inexpensive brands to use for everyday wear. A go-to favorite of mine, E.L.F., was just listed as one of Oprah's "6 ways to maximize your beauty budget"!

http://www.oprah.com/style/Beauty-Products-Money-Saving-Tips_2

If you get a chance, check out the eyeshadows, cheek colors, and concealers-they work like a dream, and are only a few hundred PENNIES!

E.L.F. is available at Target stores and online!

Happy Shopping :)

I was fortunate enough to work with the beautiful ladies of the Patel family this weekend! Such a beautiful group of gals! I can't wait to post photos from this amazing wedding!
I was really able to select fabulous colors for the gals, as each had a unique and stunning sari for each event!
Everyone was a delight to doll up :)

YWCA of Columbus Event

What a great evening?! I partnered with the YWCA of Columbus for their "Girl's Night Out" event held at the M/I Homes Center. I rather enjoyed being the go-to gal for any and all questions related to makeup colors, applications, brands, etc.
I am all about the connection I make with my client, and this was a fabulous evening full of great connections! The party ended at 7:30, but I was fortunate enough to have Q & A sessions going until 8:15!
For anyone who was at the event, I will be running a special promo through August 1st, 2010: Any makeup consultations/lessons booked at the special YWCA rate, a 10% donation will be made to the YWCA of Columbus! Mention code YWCA when reserving your appointment!
Thanks again to all of the lovely ladies at the YWCA, and a special thank you to Courtney Carrigan who is beyond fabulous!
XOXO

What an honor...

Filming for the 168 Film Project, Page 7 Productions was such an incredible experience. I was fortunate enough to work with amazing talent in every field, all of whom are right in our backyards.

"Perspective" spoke to me in so many ways.

Little did I know, that working those challenging hours on the set, would reap so many rewards for my artistry on the film. Just a few short weeks after submitting the final edit, "Perspective" was nominated for many wonderful categories...one just happened to be "Best Makeup Artist, Meg Morosco!"

Recieving the call from one of the producers, Clint, was beyond joyful!! Not only had the team been recognized for so many achievements, but on my first short film, I was nominated as well.

Writing an acceptance speech came with ease-I have a strong, supportive, encouraging husband, group of friends, and family to be thankful for!

Eventhough another artist was selected as "Best Artist", the end result was still the same. An achievement was made: a film, good for the soul, was made by a team that could have only been brought together for a purpose!

"Perspective" Photos

Here are a few photos from Jeff Glasser, photographer and owner of Nightwing Photo.

If you get a chance, check out his website: http://www.nightwingphoto.com/

Busy, Busy!!

The last few weeks have been busy (not that I am complaining), and I have such great news to blog about!!

My Spring Schedule is filling up quickly with photo shoots, weddings, and makeup classes-all things that I love doing, and can't do enough of! Next week the "Arnold Classic" will be in town, and many fitness models are requesting services!!

The last weekend in January, I conducted a skincare/makeup class for Kalie, a 13 year old girl just beginning her love for makeup! She was such a doll and I very much enjoyed working together. Two hours after beginning the lesson, I felt as though I have known her and her family for decades. Lessons are one of my favorite things to conduct-really teaching clients what colors work, how to make great selections in product, and chatting skincare make my heart skip a beat!
The lesson went so well that this Friday I am going back to work with her Aunt and a friend of their family! Most of my clients are referrals, this just happened to be a closer referral than typical :)

Valentine's Day weekend I worked my tail off "working the makeup" on the 168 Film Project short film "Perspective". Two days of shooting, gorilla style for a total of 26 hours of work! That's a great deal of makeup in 2 days! Look for photos from the funny and quick-witted Jeff Glasser of Nightwing Photography!

Now the fun stuff...Over this past weekend, I worked my magic with Eric Mull, a fashion and commercial print photographer out of Cleveland. I was asked to not only rock the makeup, but also style the hair and fashion-a two-fold compliment!! The shoot went even better than I could have asked for, and I worked with 5 AMAZING models, including Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader Tessa C! She is a true DOLL and a gem of a canvas!

I can't wait to showcase the photos from Eric. While shooting, he showcased a few of the snaps, and we really outdid ourselves-we had great canvases and props to work with (amazing models), but really brought our A-game in our respective arts!

Until next blog, keep your lipgloss on and reach for the stars!

MAC, Dior, Chanel, Oh My!!

Spring is quickly approaching, although it may not feel like it here in Ohio! The trends are out, and my excitement for the Spring Collections of many are in full swing.

Colors to keep your eye on, and on your eyes...corals, pinks (primarily fuchsias), lilacs and plums, as well as any shade of GOLD! The Spring Forecast is soft, romantic, and airy but full of color!

Not everyone can rock the above trends, but everyone can wear a shade from each palette. But for those who want to be uber-trendy, check out the following pairings:

Yellow Shadow contoured with Plum Shadow, Sheer Gold Shadow with Fuchsia Lips, Coral and Lilac Shadow blended to look like sherbet! MMMMMM!

Color not your thing, punch up your look with eyeliner! Slate will give a fresh new look to any face-soft, yet dramatic. Don't forget about Plum Eyeliner-especially if you have hazel or brown eyes-you will be amazed at the "WOW" factor the first time you wear Plums! The new Navy liners aren't your mother's 80's eyeliner...Navy provides definition, sophistication, and a touch of chic to any look!

Just a few of my favorite liners:

MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet $15.00
Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner in Navy $22.00
Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo in Slate $25.00

More trends and staples to come!
XOXO

Blogger...

I should have known that my passion for makeup would lead to be more than a hobby...as a child, I would sit and draw face shapes just to "contour" with my mother's makeup. Holding down my baby brother to put makeup on him should have told everyone else the same thing...I was destined to do something with makeup.

So, here we are years later-I still have an addiction to makeup, color, and fashion. Now, I am fortunate enough to be paid to "play" with my habits!

In my mind, a new lipstick can change a woman's day, style, and self-esteem.

With my new blog, I will update with tips, tricks, trends, and photos of new styles and looks. Plus, this is a great way for me to showcase my work to the people who matter the most to me!

Enjoy!

XOXO
Meg
